Here is some feedback from doing this sort of things and taking classes in how to photograph pieces. The first pic is artistic, but the jewelry gets lost, the ones with the rocks show it off to a much better. Often for sales, simpler is better, but focus on lighting. You can even use a hand held spot ( I used my reading lamp) to accentuate the piece. Also, simplify the background, only rocks, no candleholders etc. Hope this is a help.
