Bells in hues of blue, purple, pink and white, along with the native camas, have created carpets of purple around the city for the last few weeks. Spring is so filled with colour! These photos were all taken in Beacon Hill Park.
My long, snowy walk took me through Beacon Hill Park. I wandered along all the paths beside the ponds, until I began to feel the cold.

View of the Legislature Buildings on my way to the park.

Entering Beacon Hill Park from Douglas Street. The Garry Oak meadow is an outline of lacy texture against the snow sky.

View to the stone bridge. I love the subtle shades of green, yellow and blue amongst the grey and white.

Autumn leaves which never fell.

A small iron bridge over a tiny stream.

Walking back home to Chinatown in the snowy dusk light. The trees which line Government Street are now illuminated with red and pink lights for Valentine’s Day.
A few days ago was pretty much like a summer’s day here on the west coast. I had a little walk through Beacon Hill Park and found many flowers and so many shades of the brightest greens.
The sweet subtle signs of spring are literally in the air – we experienced the occasional scent of cherry blossoms on our long walk yesterday. Here are a few photos from in and around Beacon Hill Park, Victoria BC.
Had a wonderful walk yesterday with our friend M. She lives very close to our beautiful city park. We walked all around the gardens admiring the plantings this year, saw some turtles and baby ducks, and ended our visit over delicious beverages at Heist Coffee Co. on Courtney Street.
The weather has been mixed this week (today included the most beautiful cloud formations along with sun), but Monday was spectacular. We walked our usual route and even enjoyed some time sitting on the pebbles at the beach.

The daffodils are in full glory at Beacon Hill Park.

All that spring ocean air made us hungry. Jackson’s Ice Cream is already open at Fisherman’s Wharf!
What a beautiful and delicious rainy day we are having. It’s been sunny (also beautiful) for such a long stretch, that a rainy day was extremely refreshing. We walked through the park and along the waterfront on our usual route. The air was alive with smells of the ocean and everything that is in bloom. Below is a pic from today, plus some random sunny day shots.

Looking out toward the entrance to the Inner Harbour with the clouds hanging out over the hills of Sooke and Metchosin beyond.

One of the smaller ponds at Beacon Hill Park. It had been empty for a while and the ducks seem happy to have it full again.

Looking over a pond from the stone bridge in Beacon Hill Park, Victoria BC. I love all the colours and reflections.

Duece is an awesome yellow dog who lives with her human, our friend Feather George, in Tofino BC. She was loving the water after a day of walking all around the city.
