On a recent trip to Vancouver, we were treated to a full day of the most magnificent stormy sky. There was neither rain, nor lightening and thunder, just these beautiful clouds.

We have had some magnificent west-coast weather happening lately; from spring-like days of chirping birds and blooming flowers, to threatening skies and torrential rain storms. Here are some photos of an 8 am sky from a few days ago. It was mesmerizing! The views are of James Bay near Fisherman’s Wharf, and out of the harbour across the straight towards the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State.

For our walk last week, we were treated to a lovely stormy day. In spite of all the clouds, the day remained quite dry – it was wonderful weather for walking, and very dramatic.

At this early stage of our walk, we were wondering if we would be able to stay warm and dry.

Here are some pics from an early morning walk about a month ago. There was a mighty storm a-brew’n; didn’t really amount to anything tho!

On tuesday, we had the most incredible rain storm, or storms, as there was a spectacular one in the afternoon with thunder and lightening, plus a bonus evening downpour of epic proportions. I did not capture these, but instead, the gathering clouds and lead up. We had a lovely morning walk and were almost home when the first gentle drops began to fall. These were taken at the beach on Dallas Road, just below Beacon Hill Park:

Saw this gorgeous cloud system this afternoon in our neighbourhood. Just thought it made a nice picture!
