As they are just coming to an end, here are some pics of the fluffiest and pinkest blooms this season.

Stumbled on this pretty little park in Oak Bay a couple weeks ago, full of birds and blossoms. More info here, here and here.

It was a gorgeous spring day yesterday. I had a walking adventure with our new friend Sprocket and his humans. We found a lovely little public dock just past Banfield Park in Vic West. The Gorge Waterway was perfectly still and it was quiet and peaceful. Stopped at Fol Epi and Cafe Fantastico at Dockside Green on the way home for delicious snacks and tea.

From the dock we daydreamed about this gorgeous house with a lovely big deck that overlooks the Gorge.

I’m in love with the new Discovery Coffee location on Blanshard Street near the corner at Fort, in Victoria BC. They make an excellent hot chocolate and serve Yonni’s Doughnuts, if they aren’t all gone!

Quick pickled vegetables I made this morning – cauliflower, carrot, onion, and watermelon radish. Fast and easy, you just have to eat them up fairly quickly.

Our young old cat and our old new cat are not yet friends. They tolerate one another, and once in a while, almost play.

I caught these photos yesterday.

Our weather lately has lovely – clear crisp days and cold starlit nights. And, the daytime temperature are starting to be warmer; I have even seen a few folk wearing bare feet in flip flops the last few days. I’ve been enjoying some evening walks as well as early morning ones, and caught this gorgeous sunset a few nights ago.

Today marks the first day of the new Chinese lunar year – for 2015, it is the Year of The Wooden Sheep. Our neighbourhood, Canada’s oldest Chinatown, is very busy at this time of year! This coming Sunday, from noon until 4, the festivities include a Lion dance, dragon performances, kung fu and tai chi demonstrations, traditional dancing, and Chinese tea ceremonies.
